Applications are invited by the Cayman Islands Office of Maples Technology SEZC for the position of

Software Engineer

who will be a member of a team building fund administration products for both internal and external customers of Maples and Calder. The team is part of a wider software engineering department of six teams spread across two geographical locations. The wider team has embraced Agile and DevOps practices, it embraces professional practices such as TDD and SOLID principles.

The software developer is expected to be enthusiastic about best practice and be knowledgable about the wider industry. The software developer will be expected to have good full stack experience and understand good architectural principles. The software developer will be expected to write clean maintainable code and implement design patterns where appropriate. The software developer will be expected to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

The succesful candidate needs to have good object orientated coding skills, preferably in C#. They should have practical experience of a web application framework, preferably ASP.NET MVC. They should have a good understaning of JavaScript / TypeScript frameworks, preferably Angular 2+. They need to have good front end skills in HTML5, CSS and client script. The must have experience of SQL, preferably T-SQL and an ORM, such as Entity Framework.

He/she must have experience of working with source control, preferably Git and branching strategies. Experience of TDD and testing strategies would be beneficial. Scrum or other Agile methodologies would also be beneficial.

He/she will work closely with business analysts and work on a variety of different products.
